Are you an artist, be it musical, technical, theater or film? The Creative Arts Team is always in need of talented, committed volunteers to serve on the weekends.
If you would like to talk to someone about volunteer opportunities, please fill out the form below and someone will contact you.
The guest relations team is all about making people feel welcome. Included in this team are our greeters, ushers, "bucket-passers”, and coffee volunteers. If you’re looking for an easy way to get started serving, then this team is for you.
Children’s Ministry at Woodcrest is all about connecting kids to God in a fun way. Giving your time and energy for our youngest seekers is a rewarding experience. A variety of volunteer opportunities are available, from teaching and shepherding, to working at the check-in desk. Help is always needed!
All of the volunteers who serve in Kidcrest are from our Woodcrest community. The only way Kidcrest can continue to reach our littlest seekers is through those who are willing to serve them. It is also up to our church community to provide a place for our new families to come experience the fun and safety of Kidcrest.
It is really helpful for our regular families to commit to serving once every 4-6 weeks. Kidcrest needs 100 volunteers per weekend to provide a safe environment for children to learn about God
Woodcrest Student Ministry is committed to helping students find truth by giving them the tools to explore the claims of Christ for themselves. The experience is life-changing for students and those who walk alongside them as mentors and friends.
If you would like to talk to someone about volunteer opportunities, please contact Amanda Kirtlink.
If you have a heart for those who are imprisoned, have a healthy sense of personal boundaries and desire to carry a message of God’s love to the incarcerated through your prayers or presence, Woodcrest prison ministry may be a place you could serve God and our brothers or sisters in Christ who live inside the fence of prison. Training is given in advance of your visit or service.

Every dollar you give to 'The Dollar Club' at Woodcrest is combined with the gifts of many to share with those in need of food. We cooperate with other caring people to address food insecurity in Central Missouri one meal at a time to spread the hope and compassion of Jesus to our city.
Please contact Sherry Neff if you have questions.
In cooperation with the Food Bank for Central Missouri, Outside the Walls volunteers staff a monthly mobile food pantry to provide groceries to approximately 200 families each month. Mobile pantries are specially equipped trucks that distribute non-perishable goods, fresh produce, and frozen meat to locations without brick-and-mortar pantries. The mobile pantry takes place on the third Tuesday of each month from 3:30–5:30. Volunteers are needed beginning at 2:45 to direct traffic, register participants, count and package food items, and load food into vehicles. This is a great opportunity to bring along a friend to serve with you and build relationships with other volunteers.
Join us Tuesday, December 17, from 2:45 to 5:30 p.m. to serve at the mobile food pantry at the Elks Lodge, 4747 E Elks Drive, Columbia, MO. This is a great opportunity to serve our neighbors outside the walls of the church. Would you consider joining us and put it on your calendar?
Please contact Sherry Neff if you have questions.
Loaves and Fishes is a group who serve a meal each evening from 4:30 – 5:45 PM which is open to everyone in our community. We plan to serve next on November 30, 2024. Volunteers are needed to prepare food in advance and to serve and clean up after the meal. Please contact Sherry Neff for more information.
City of Refuge is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization created to help refugees and immigrants recover and regain control of their lives. Woodcrest is exploring volunteer opportunities, which may include sorting and displaying donated items, assisting with childcare during English classes, teaching a craft, acting as a receptionist for a few hours, or serving as an English buddy for a family. You can also drop off clean, gently used clothing and household items at the former bank drive-through area at 10 N. Garth Ave. and provide support by shopping at City Boutique, which is a thrift store for extra donated items and carries items made by refugee women to financially support their families.
