SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 15, 2026
What do two Super Bowl halftimes, the political slogan “Make America Great Again,” and angsty, aggravated Christians have to do with Learning to Move Again?
You might be surprised at the sneaky, strength-sapping culprit that lurks in our hearts, in our church, and in our relationships with others. This one could get interesting.
Let’s come this weekend with openness, humility, and charitability. And since we’re loading up on all those things, we might as well bring a friend or two as well.
We will also share in Communion together this Sunday, remembering Christ’s body and blood and anchoring our hearts again in His grace.
See you Sunday.
BLACK HISTORY MONTH
This month, we honor Black History Month—a time to recognize and celebrate the faith, courage, resilience, and contributions of Black leaders and communities who have shaped our church, our nation, and our shared story.
We give thanks for those who have gone before us, commit ourselves to pursuing justice and unity, and renew our call to love our neighbors as Christ has loved us. May this month deepen our gratitude, our learning, and our shared commitment to walk together in hope.
OUTSIDE THE WALLS
Our next Food Bank Mobile Market will be held on February 17 at the Elks Lodge. Volunteers are needed from 2:45–5:30 PM to help direct traffic, register neighbors, sort and bag groceries, and load vehicles.
If you have any questions, please contact Sherry or REGISTER HERE.
FAMILY MEETING
Save the date for our next Family Meeting on February 22. We will gather in the auditorium after the service with the elder board to hear updates and information of interest to the congregation.
LAST WEEK’S INSIGHTS
Last Sunday, Matt continued our Learning to Move Again series by focusing on prayer as the practice that keeps us spiritually awake and ready when God says “go.”
Highlights:
• Don’t “fall asleep on the bus”, prayer keeps you alert so you don’t miss what God has for you.
• Saul’s decline was marked by not inquiring of the Lord, Elijah’s life was marked by repeatedly turning to God in prayer (1 Chronicles 10, 1 Kings 17–19).
• Pray in real life, not just in ideal moments, trouble, sickness, fear, exhaustion (James 5).
• Use simple frameworks when you don’t know what to say: the Lord’s Prayer (Matthew 6) and ACTS (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, Supplication).
• Practice “praying Scripture” by meditating on a Psalm and praying it back to God, Matt led the room through Psalm 23 and challenged a 21-day run from Psalm 1 to Psalm 23.
The Takeaway:
Prayer isn’t a bonus feature for strong Christians, it’s how we stay awake, stay close, and keep in step with God.
