Preschool
Babies & One Year Olds
On the Columbia campus, we have three infant rooms: Zero - 10 months, 11-18 months and 19-23 months. Each room is equipped with developmentally appropriate toys and equipment. Children are promoted to the next room the weekend after they reach the age-graded milestone.
If babies are crying after they are dropped off, they may be strolled to help calm them. If they continue to cry, we will page mom or dad after 15 minutes unless other arrangements are made.
Two Year Olds
On the Columbia campus, we have a room especially designed for our twos. As the children arrive, they choose from several centers and engage in active play. Approximately 15 minutes into the hour, they take a trip over to our Precrest Playground where they can run and play. They then return to their room for a snack and bible lesson time. Our two-year-old room is connected to a diaper changing station, and this station also has an itty bitty potty for those who are potty training.
Three Year Olds
On the Columbia campus, as our three-year-olds arrive, they choose from several centers and engage in active play. Approximately 10 minutes into the hour, they clean up their center toys and go to our tables for lesson time. During the lesson time, they listen to the teacher, dance with scarves and learn the a prepared Bible lesson. Then, they engage in a creative play activity and eat snack. We close with play time in the indoor Precrest playground as well as in the classroom.
We focus each month on a particular truth about our friendship with God. We illustrate that truth through the Bible story and connect it to experiences the children have every day at home, at church, or at preschool.
Four & Five Year Olds
On the Columbia campus, our four-and five-year-olds spend some of their hour in our Precrest Playground and some of their hour in their learning room. In their learning room, they begin with an interactive Bible lesson and then participate together in music and movement. Next, the children eat snack and enjoy a creative play activity. Creative play may include a teacher-led activity, a game that reinforces the lesson or free play in the room.

Pre-Crest Playground
On the Columbia campus, the children very much enjoy our indoor playground. The playground is intended to be an area for the children to exercise gross motor skills and for volunteers to connect with the children through physical play. The 2-year-olds up through 5-year-olds rotate in and out to take their turn playing on the playground.
Kidcrest Family Co-Op
The Kidcrest Family Co-Op is a partnership between Kidcrest and the families we serve.
Why is it needed?
Each weekend the Columbia campus serves over 400 children in Kidcrest and we need 103 volunteers to serve in our classrooms. We have a strong volunteer core, but this is not enough volunteers to keep our rooms open and functioning at an optimal level. We also have scheduling changes that cause our regular volunteers to cancel at the last minute.
What is its purpose?
To keep Kidcrest open to all kids who want to attend each weekend, by providing support for the volunteers who serve regularly.
Just one adult from each family is needed to serve just one service, every OTHER month.
To find out how you can participate, you can pick up a card from any computer station in the Kidcrest lobby, you can e-mail Angiej@woodcrest.org or go to the following link and fill out the form online:
