Bicycle Club
Designed for those who enjoy biking, the Bicycle Club meets most weekends during the spring, summer and fall to enjoy rides along the roads and trails around Columbia.
The club started with a desire to find a way for adults to get together and ride around the Columbia area as a way to promote healthy exercise and to enjoy God’s great outdoors.
About our rides: Each ride is approximately 1½ hours long and will generally be around 10-25 miles. We start each ride with a devotional and encourage each rider to try and spend time with all riders in the group. We have found many problems can be solved and discussed along a 15 mile bike ride.
When: Saturday mornings or Sunday afternoons when the temperatures are above 40 degrees (including wind chill) and below 100 without rain.
Where: The group alternates between road and trail rides so all skill levels can be accommodated. All road rides are generally in the outlying areas of Boone and surrounding counties and are picked by the level of difficulty and low traffic. Trail rides have included Rocheport, Pilot Grove, Boonville and Jefferson City.
Other Planned Rides:We offer dinner rides at least once per month where riders and non-riding significant others meet for a dinner after the rides.
Please try and carve some time out of your busy schedule to ride. One ride with us could change the way you think about bicycling. We welcome riders of all skill levels to come enjoy God’s great outdoors in the company of others who want an excuse to just get outside and get some exercise.
